Scotish Premier League giants Rangers could face competition from Newcastle United in the race to sign Martin Skrtel.
According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Fenerbahce have offered Skrtel out to Newcastle United as they look to raise the highest transfer fee they can for the Slovakia international.
Fenerbahce are currently being monitored by UEFA for Financial Fair Play and are keen to clear their wage bill.
Per the source, the Yellow Canaries want to sell Skrtel before his contract expires next season.
The news comes amidst a report in the Sun which claims that Martin Skrtel is close to a Rangers transfer. The Sun goes onto state that Rangers have almost agreed a £2.7million deal for Skrtel, who is set to pen a three-year deal.

Skrtel is no stranger to Rangers’ newly appointed manager Steven Gerrard. The pair played together for over five years at Liverpool.
The Slovakia international made 320 appearances for Liverpool over an eight-year period. Skrtel went onto join Fenerbahce back in 2016.
