Star midfielder set for Liverpool exit after agreeing four-year deal with Euro giants, will undergo medical this week

The Emre Can exit saga appears to finally be reaching its conclusion this week.

According to the latest report by SkySports, Can will undergo a medical with Juventus this week after agreeing a five-year deal with the Italian giants.

Can played a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven this season but was unable to agree upon a new contract. The 24-year-old suffered a back injury which kept him sidelined for Liverpool’s wins over Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

The Germany international recovered in time for the UEFA Champions League final but started on the bench and only featured for ten minutes.

Juventus have been linked with a move for Emre Can since last summer. The Serie A champions chief executive Giuseppe Marotta recently stated, “I’m confident we will be able to announce Emre Can after the Champions League final.”

Can made the move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2014 and has scored 14 goals in 167 games for Liverpool. The former Bayern Munich man provided five assists and three goals in 26 appearances this season.

The 24-year-old was omitted from Joachim Low’s Germany national team squad.
