Leeds United have received a boost in the race to sign Uruguay international striker Abel Hernandez.
We recently reported that Galatasaray are interested in bringing the Hull City striker to Istanbul this summer. However, the Turkish outlet Hurriyet state that Galatasaray will table an offer of €2 million per season (£33,800 per week).
Meanwhile, the Yorkshire Evening Post have revealed that Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani was confident of meeting Hernandez’s £40,000-a-week wage demands.
Galatasaray’s offer comes significantly below Hernandez’s wage demands, however, the Lions will be able to offer the striker UEFA Champions League football next season.
Furthermore, Hernandez’s international teammate Fernando Muslera currently plays for Galatasaray.
Hernandez scored 28 goals in 49 championship appearances for Hull City this season and almost made a £20 million move to Villa last year.
The in-demand striker recently tweeted that an announcement on his future was imminent.
