Arsenal eye move for £20m Bundesliga star playmaker this summer after cooling interest in Jean Michael Seri

Arsenal are eyeing a move for the Germany international of Turkish decent Kerem Demirbay this summer.

According to a report by the Standard, the Gunners are unlikely to pursue a deal for Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri. Per the source, the Ivorian midfielder is pushing for a move to Chelsea or Man City over the north London based club.

The standard go onto state that Arsenal have broadened their search for a central midfielder and are monitoring Hoffenheim star Kerem Demirbay.

Demirbay only recently extended his contract with the Bundesliga. His new four-year deal could keep him at the Bundesliga club until the end of the 2021-22 season.

The Standard previously reported that Arsenal were interested in a £20 million move for Demirbay prior to his contract extension. Liverpool were also understood to be keen on the midfield playmaker.

Demirbay racked up six assists and two goals in 27 appearances for Hoffenheim this season in all competitions. The 24-year-old only recently recovered from an ankle ligament injury which kept him out of the majority of the season.
