Galatasaray have received a boost in the race to sign Arsenal star playmaker Jack Wilshere.
According to a report in the Mirror by chief football writer John Cross, Wilshere will leave Arsenal on a free this summer.
Per the source, Wilshere does not feature in Arsenal’s newly appointed manager Unai Emery plans for the upcoming season.
Cross goes onto state that Wilshere was desperate to remain at Arsenal but is now expected to leave after being told he will be a fringe player at the north London based club.
Wilshere’s contract with the Gunners expires at the end of the month.
The news comes as a boost to Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray. The Lions boss Fatih Terim is a huge fan of the England international and will be able to offer Wilshere the prospect of playing UEFA Champions League football.
Wilshere provided seven assists and scored two goals in 40 appearances for Arsenal this season.
