Nadir Ciftci canceled his contract with Scottish giants Celtic a year early and will now join Genclerbirligi sources close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football.

Ciftci was signed by former manager Ronny Deila in 2015 from Dundee United on a £1.5 million move after an impressive 2014-15 campaign scoring 16 goals.

The 26-year-old has scored just four times in 26 appearances since his move to the Bhoys.

The Turkey international has not actually played for Celtic since February 2017.

In fact he has featured just four times since Brendan Rodgers took charge.

Ciftci spent last season on a six-month loan to Plymouth before a temporary move to Motherwell in January.

In total the striker scored three goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances over the 2017-18 campaign.

The striker is no stranger to playing in Turkey but has never featured in the second tier.

Ciftci has played for Eskisehirspor and Kayserispor in the past.

Genclerbirligi were relegated from the Super Lig for the first time in 29 years.

The striker will sign a two-year deal with the Ankara based side.
