Emre Can rejected a contract offer from Liverpool for a new deal in favor of Juventus according to the Echo.
Per the source, the Reds did offer a new contract deal but the midfielder of Turkish origin turned it down.
Liverpool were reportedly not keen on offering Can a major wage increase with a release clause option.
The Premier League outfit ended up losing the powerful midfielder on a free transfer.
Instead Can signed a four-year contract agreement with a staggering £14 million sign-on fee which will be paid over the next two seasons.
“Juventus Football Club announces that Emre Can has signed with the Bianconeri to officially join the club on July 1 2018 on a four-year deal,” said a statement on Juventus’ website.
“As a result of the signature of the agreement, Juventus will incur additional costs of 16 million euros (£14m), to be paid over the next two financial years.”
Can shared a message with Liverpool fans on his official Instagram account after announcing his departure.

The report also claims that Can will be on wages of around £4 million-per-season.
Can made a total of 167 appearances for Liverpool and recovered from a back injury in time for the Champions League final in Kiev.
Liverpool have already made replacements for Can signing Naby Keita and Fabinho.
