Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League and Arsenal in particular.
The Gunes newspaper published quotes yesterday that Soyuncu wants an Arsenal move.
“It is true, Arsenal have made an offer, I want Arsenal, god willing I will go to Arsenal or the Premier League but it all depends on Freiburg,” Soyuncu told Turkish outlet Gunes.
“I still have another three-years on my contract.”
A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that Soyuncu never actually said what was printed.
Soyuncu does want a Premier League move but did not comment directly on Arsenal.
As things stand Freiburg have not agreed terms with another club over the transfer of Soyuncu.
A decision over his future was expected to be made soon after the international break but Freiburg are in no hurry.
The Bundesliga outfit are well aware of the growing interest in the defender and will assess the offers before making a decision over his future.
Freiburg hold all the cards, the defender has another three-years remaining on his contract and at least four offers.
The German side will have to pay 25 percent of any future transfer to Altinordu and this is another reason why Freiburg are taking their time.
Freiburg want in the region of £30m for the powerful center-back.
Soyuncu has made no secret that he wants a move to England but may have to wait until the first week of July before a deal is struck.

Soyuncu’s agent Mustafa Dogru told Turkish-Football exclusively that Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been keen on the defender since his time at Borussia Dortmund.
“Sven Mislintat has been keen on Caglar since he was at Borussia Dortmund,” Dogru said.
“He first scouted him back in Germany.”
The Gunners were the first Premier League side to make a move for the Turkey international but Dogru made it clear four sides from England have made offers.
“There are four Premier League sides who’ve made a move for Soyuncu, that we are in talks with,” he added.
The names of the clubs were not revealed.
