Transfer Talks Put On Hold After Liverpool Demand €15m For Forward, Super Big Giants Urge Reds To Decrease Price

Besiktas have put talks with Liverpool over the transfer of Daniel Sturridge on hold after failing to come to an agreement with the Reds over a fee according to the Takvim newspaper.

Per the source, the Black Eagles remain keen but will only be able to come to an agreement if the Reds lower their demands.

Liverpool want €15m for the out-of-form striker, a fee the Istanbul based outfit are not prepared to pay out.

Sturridge has just 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to be offered an extension.

Besiktas initially wanted a loan deal but considering Sturridge will be a free transfer next season, the Reds want to sell him over the summer.

Besiktas have made signing a new striker a priority this summer.

The Black Eagles struggled for goals from their forwards after selling Cenk Tosun to Everton in January.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not appear to have plans for the striker next season and he has failed down the pecking order.

Sturridge scored just three goals in all competitions last term, spending six-months on loan at West Brom – although he did struggle with injuries.
