Manchester United could rule out selling Luke Shaw after pulling out of the race for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
The Manchester Evening News report that Juventus slapped a £52m price tag on Sandro which United are not interested in matching.
Per the source, Shaw, who has 12 months remaining on his contract could be offered a new deal.
The 22-year-old had been tipped for a summer exit.
The developments will come as a blow to Fenerbahce who have been plotting a move for the England defender.
Turkish-Football understands that Shaw was on the Yellow Canaries shortlist.
Recently appointed sporting director Damien Comolli had made enquries to his representatives.
The Istanbul giants did not make a formal offer but were monitoring the situation closely.
The Yellow Canaries may still have a slim chance of getting hold of Shaw.
Despite the latest reports, Jose Mourinho is unlikely to keep Shaw on as a first-choice defender. Instead, opting for Ashley Young as his trusted full-back.
The MEN story does state that Shaw’s camp have reservations over accepting a new deal considering his role in the squad.
United have however, had no ‘serious takers’ so far this summer.
The defender’s relationship with Jose Mourinho appeared strained after being taken off at half-time against Brighton in the FA Cup in March.
