Origi will have to win over Jurgen Klopp over the pre-season to keep his place in the side next summer.
The forward scored just seven times in 36 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit last season.
Klopp will make a decision on whether Origi will feature in his plans for the 2018-19 season over the next few weeks.
Origi may get a chance to make a name for himself as Roberto Firmino will miss the start of the pre-season as he is at the World Cup.
