Liverpool Forward Set For Anfield Exit Holds Talks With Damien Comolli Over Summer Transfer

Liverpool striker Danny Ings is set for an Anfield exit in order to secure first-team football according to the BBC.

The striker has struggled with knee injuries since joining Liverpool from Burnley on an £8m move in 2015.

Ings does have another two-years left on his contract but has reached an agreement with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp that will allow him to leave over the summer.

Klopp did want Ings to stay but will not demand a ‘prohibitive transfer fee’.

Ings next destination could be Fenerbahce if sporting director Damien Comolli gets his way according to the Gunes newspaper.

Comolli is a familiar name to Liverpool fans from his time at the club.

The former Reds official has made Ings’ agent Jan Heuckeroth an offer and is set for talks over a summer transfer.

The Istanbul based outfit do have concerns over Ings’ injury record.

The 25-year-old has made just 14 Premier League appearances over the past three seasons.

Ings ruptured cruciate ligaments in October 2015 and then suffered cartilage damage the year after.

The striker did return for the last two months of the 2017-18 campaign featuring in the Champions League quarter and semi-finals but was not named on the bench for the final against Real Madrid.

Ings has been working on his fitness over the summer after hiring a personal trainer to get him prepared for the pre-season.
