Vincent Janssen Wants Tottenham Return But Also Hints Summer Exit Could Be On Cards

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has revealed he wants to return to the North London club but has not ruled out returning to Fenerbahce.

Janssen wants to ‘play’ and has stressed that first-team football is what he is after next season.

To be honest we are not quite sure how he expects to play regularly at Spurs considering he was loaned out to Fenerbahce over the 2017-18 campaign.

Unless Janssen manages to win over Pochettino over the pre-season it is difficult seeing him getting much playing time.

Spurs would have to not sign a new striker this summer and suffer injuries to their existing forwards to be a genuine first-team forward next season.

He told NOS: “I will soon report back to Tottenham and we will see what happens. I want to play, that’s important. Last season I was injured at Fenerbahçe for a long time. We are going to find the best solution.

“I just want to play football now, whether it’s at Tottenham, Fenerbahçe or somewhere else. I have my ideas about that, hopefully there will be more clarity soon.”

On a return to Fenerbahce, Janssen added: I had a fantastic year despite the injury and I have the feeling that the chapter Fenerbahçe has not yet been closed.

“That does not mean that Fenerbahçe is my only option”, adds Janssen. “I am open to everything, there is nothing at the moment and it is easy to wait.”

Janssen scored just five goals and provided four assists in 19 appearances for Fenerbahce in a season disrupted by injuries.

The 24-year-old was sidelined from December up until April with a toe injury.
