Germany suffered a shock exit from the 2018 World Cup following a historic 2-0 defeat to South Korea.
Joachim Low’s side needed a win to secure their place in the second round, however, were unable to break down South Korea’s defence in the first half. The Germans pushed forward in the second half and were fortunate not to concede from a South Korean counter.
However, Korea broke the deadlock after Kim Young-Gwon tapped home from close range while Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min scored his sides second.
As usual, Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil is expected to bear the brunt of criticism following Germany’s exit despite the 29-year-old being one of their strongest performers.
The Gunners star created seven chances, made more successful dribbles than any other Germany player and completed 94 passes with an 85% accuracy.

In fact, Ozil created the most chances by any player in a single game at the 2018 World Cup so far.
Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be good enough for BBC pundit Jermaine Jenas who singled out Mesut Ozil for criticism.
“That’s an easy pass that is from Mesut Ozil as well by the way,” Jenas stated live on BBC.
“He’s much better than what we’ve seen there.”
