Galatasaray have suffered a major transfer set back in their bid to sign Stoke City’s Badou Ndiaye.
Interestingly, Ndiaye only joined Stoke City from Galatasaray back in January for £14 million. However, the Senegal international has failed to make an impact with the Potters.
Ndiaye only recently returned from the 2018 World Cup with Senegal. The 27-year-old made an appearance off the bench but was unable to help his side advance past the group stages.
According to the Turkish outlet Futbol Arena, Galatasaray tabled a loan bid for Ndiaye over the weekend.
However, Stoke City have rejected the Istanbul Giants offer.
Per the source, Galatasaray were willing to cover Ndiaye’s wages in full but Stoke City are demanding an additional £2 million fee for the loan.
The news will come as a boost to Newcastle United who have also been linked with a move for the Senegal international.
The Chronical states that Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is keen on Ndiaye. Per the source, Stoke City are willing to sell the box-to-box midfielder for £16 million this summer.
