Manchester United have joined the race to sign Stoke City’s star midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.
The news comes as a huge blow to Galatasaray who have been harbouring hopes of signing the Switzerland international.
The Lions boss Fatih Terim is a big fan of Shaqiri and has instructed club officials to do everything they can to sign the 26-year-old.
However, according to The Sun, Manchester United have entered the race to sign the in-demand Stoke City star.
Per the source, Jose Mourinho has been impressed with Shaqiri’s performances at the 2018 World Cup.
The former Bayern Munich star helped Switzerland reach the Last 16 where they were defeated by Sweden.
Shaqiri is available for a cut-price this summer after his £12 million release kicked in following Stoke City’s relegation from the Premier League.
The Switzerland international provided seven assists and scored eight goals in 36 appearances for the Potters last season. Shaqiri has two years remaining on his contract with Stoke.
