Liverpool Could Have World Cup Star For Just €10m If They Include Daniel Sturridge In The Deal

Liverpool have been closely linked with a move for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida.

It all started with Turkish journalist Turgay Demir who told A Spor live on air: “Everton and Liverpool have made an offer for Vida, €15m has been proposed but Besiktas will not consider a bid below €20m.”

The Aksam newspaper reported today that the Reds have trumped Everton and Leicester City’s bid for the Croatia international with a £13m move.

The latest development according to Fotomac revolves around Daniel Sturridge.

The England striker has just 12 months remaining on his contract and is expected to leave.

The Black Eagles would be prepared to accept just €10m [£8.8m] for Vida if Liverpool were to include Sturridge as part of the deal.

The Turkish sports newspaper do make it clear that Everton are favorites to land a deal for the powerful defender.

The Istanbul giants want £17.6m [€20m] for the 29-year-old who they signed on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev in January.

Vida has seen his value increase after an impressive showing at the World Cup alongside his defensive partner Dejan Lovren.

Croatia will face hosts Russia in the quarter-finals.

The Echo report that Sturridge has just a ‘few weeks’ to convince Reds boss Jurgen Klopp to keep him on at the club next season.

Per the source, the only reason he is still at Liverpool is because they have been unable to find a buyer.

The 28-year-old scored just three goals in all competitions last season and spent the second half of the campaign on loan at West Brom.
