Everton forward Henry Onyekuru is on the verge of a transfer for Galatasaray.
A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that Onyekuru traveled to Istanbul today where he underwent a medical.
The Nigeria international has passed his medical and will join on loan if the deal goes ahead.
The Lions have been in talks with Onyekuru’s representatives for weeks over a summer move.
There is an issue however, regarding the agents involved regarding a mandate to operate in Turkey.
Onyekuru had also been offered to Fenerbahce and Besiktas through other agents but as things stand Galatasaray have made the first move and are in pole position to reach an agreement.
Talks were expected with Fenerbahce and Besiktas over a potential loan for Onyekuru tomorrow.
Galatasaray does present the most attractive destination as they would be able to offer the 21-year-old Champions League football next season.
The Istanbul based outfit have released a statement on the Istanbul stock exchange confirming talks with Everton are underway.
The statement confirms that the Lions want the striker on a temporary move.

“Official talks with Everton FC are underway regarding the loan transfer of Henry Chukwuemeka Onyekuru,” the statement read.
The Nigeria international will not be able to play at Everton next season as he does not have a work permit.
Onyekuru was expected to return to Anderlecht on loan but burnt bridges with his former club.
The forward blasted Anderlecht and says he will not return to the Jupiler League outfit, telling Het Laatste Nieuws: “Anderlecht knew I needed the World Cup to get a work permit to play in England, and by not making me play, the chances of going to Russia were nil, and so I could not join the Premier League, that may be how Anderlecht hopes to keep me for another year, a ridiculous reasoning: I can go anywhere.”
