Agent Responds To Reports That Everton Have Signed £88-Rated Barcelona Star, Super Lig Giants Given Hope

Barcelona defender Yerry Mina had reportedly signed for Everton according to recent reports.

Mina’s agent Yair Mina has opened up about the latest developments.

Yair denied that his client has struck a deal with the Toffees and made it clear that there are several clubs interested.

Ultimately Barcelona will make the final decision regarding what their plans for the 23-year-old.

“It is not true that Yerry has signed for Everton,” Yair Mina explained to Mundo Deportivo, as cited by the Liverpool Echo.

“Yerry has many teams who hold an interest in him but before we can think about that, we need to know what Barcelona plan to do.

“When we hear from the club, we will make a decision.”

Mina has an £88m release clause and was only signed in January from Brazilian side Palmeiras.

Everton are favorites to sign the defender but he has also received interest from Fenerbahce.

A source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football that his valuation puts him out of their price range for a permanent deal.

The club do however, want a loan move and hope Barca would look favorably on keeping the defender on their books and gain experience playing in European competitions.

Fenerbahce must navigate past a tricky playoff route if they hope to make the Champions League group stage.

The 23-year-old made just six appearances for the La Liga champions during the 2017/18 season.

Mina played a starring role for Colombia at the World Cup becoming the first defender to score in his first three games.
