Tottenham Face Competition For Turkish Wonderkid Target After Benfica Increase Offer To €15m

Tottenham face growing competition for Trabzonspor wonderkid Abulkadir Omur according to reports in Turkey.

Turkish journalist Erdal Hos – who has close ties to Trabzonspor – recently revealed that Spurs have made a bid for the Turkey international.

The daily Turkish newspaper Fanatik are now reporting that Benfica have made an increased €15 million offer for the rising star.

The latest move comes after the Black Sea based outfit rejected a €7m bid for the Turkey international.

Per the source, Benfica have agreed to pay €10 million upfront and an additional €5 million over the winter transfer window.

Trabzonspor will have a board meeting tomorrow to make a final decision regarding the latest offer.

The attacking midfielder is already a first-team star for Trabzonspor and scored three times while providing six assists in 32 appearances last season.

UEFA have described Omur him as being something of a cross between Lionel Messi and Gheorghe Hagi.

The youngster did make Guardian newspapers 2016 Next Generation project alongside 60 of the best young talents in world football.
