Arsenal have taken to social media to post a photo of their star playmaker Mesut Ozil.
The photo has been posted in the aftermath of Ozil’s open letter which he released last night. The 29-year-old stated that he no longer wants to play for the Germany national team citing discrimination from members of the German FA.
The 29-year-old of Turkish origin feels he was made a scapegoat for the national team’s poor form after taking a photograph with the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Ozil returned to pre-season training with Arsenal last week and will travel with the rest if the squad to Singapour.
Arsenal shared a photo of Ozil looking upbeat and included the caption, “All smiles from @m10_official at our first training session of #AFCTour2018.”
