Emre Can put an end to his spell at Liverpool earlier this summer when he completed a move to Serie A champions Juventus.

The 24-year-old ended up leaving the Merseyside based club for free after his contract with Liverpool expired.

Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2014 and spent four years with the Reds.

The Germany international heaped praise on Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after he revealed what the Reds boss told him when he decided to leave Anfield.

“Not a lot of managers would let you play so many times when you are in the final year of your contract.” Can told BBC Sport.

“My relationship with Klopp was always good. He wished me all the best when I told him I was leaving.

“But I always did my best. I always wanted to help the team.

“That is what he saw. That is why he kept faith with me.”

Can established himself as a first-team regular in Jurgen Klopp’s side and made a speedy recovery from a back injury to feature in the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old will now play alongside Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who also made the move to Juventus this summer.

Liverpool are back in action tomorrow when they take on Manchester City in the International Champions Cup.
