Man United vs AC Milan: Probable Lineups, Preview – Turkish International Set To Start

Manchester United take on AC Milan on Thursday 26 July at the Rose Bowl Stadium, in Pasadena, California, USA in their first game in the International Champions Cup.

United head into the game having yet to win in the US after two friendly games against Mexican outfit Club America and MLS side San Jose Earthquakes.

AC Milan meanwhile will play their first game since making the trip against the Red Devils tonight.

Jose Mourinho is facing the prospect of several first-team players not returning until the Premier League season has started following the 2018 World Cup.

The Portuguese manager has already made it clear that the players who made the later stages of the tournament may miss the start of the season.

Nemanja Matic, David De Gea and Fred have returned but are unlikely to be ready for action just yet.

Stars names Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Marouane Fellaini and Romelu Lukaku are still on holiday.

Antonio Valencia could return from injury but the real opportunities will be given to the younger members of the squad.

Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood could get playing time against the Serie A outfit.

Turkish international star Hakan Calhanoglu did not star in the World Cup and will be match fit for Gennaro Gattuso’s side.

Calhanoglu is almost certain to start in an attacking midfield role or upfront.

AC Milan will be without Ivan Strinic, Lucas Biglia, Andrea Conti, Riccardo Montolivo and Carlos Bacca.

Friendlies are notoriously difficult to predict but United have a depleted squad.

The Italians meanwhile have most of their first-team stars available and it will be interesting to see how they perform against a high-profile team.

On the flipside, Mourinho will be fielding fringe and youth players who will be desperate to make an impression.

I expect the Red Devils to be up for it but will that be enough against a strong AC Milan side? we are about to find out.
