Besiktas are set to face competition from La Liga champions Barcelona in the race to sign out-of-favour Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Mignolet has fallen down the pecking order at the Merseyside based club following the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Allison from AS Roma.
According to The Sun, Besiktas have tabled a £12 million offer for Mignolet. However, yesterday we reported that the Black Eagles are in-fact hoping to sign the Belgium international on a 12-month loan deal.
Meanwhile, the Spanish outlet Marca have claimed that Barcelona are also interested in signing Mignolet this summer. If the La Liga giants are to sign the 30-year-old, he will likely serve as a back-up for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Besiktas are however on the lookout for a new first-choice goalkeeper after selling Fabri to Fulham earlier this week.
Mignolet made 19 appearances for Liverpool last season before losing his spot in Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven to Loris Karius.
