Arsenal Demand £4.7m For World Cup Star But Offered £1.3m, Transfer Expected To Be Completed Next Week

Arsenal keeper David Ospina has been closely linked with a move to Besiktas over the summer transfer window.

The Sozcu newspaper reported today that Arsenal demanded £4.7m [€5m] for the Colombian international but that Besiktas offered just £1.3m [€1.5m].

Despite the difference, talks have been progressing and the clubs have agreed on most matters.

Additionally, negotiations between Ospina and Besiktas have reached an advanced stage and he appears keen to make the move.

The Colombian keeper is waiting for the two clubs to shake hands so that his future can be resolved.

Besiktas want to complete the transfer by next week before the end of the Premier League transfer window.

The Black Eagles would still be able to sign players from England once the window shuts as the Turkish transfer season comes to an end at a later date.

The Super Lig based outfit are however, keen on signing a new stopper to replace Fabri who joined Fulham on a £5.3m move.

Turkish-Football meanwhile understands that Besiktas are prepared to offer as high as £2-2.5m for Ospina and are also open to a loan deal which would include a fee and buyout clause option.

The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal to third choice, behind Bernd Leno and Petr Cech.

Ospina has yet to return from holiday after helping Colombia reach the World Cup Last 16, losing to England on penalties.

The keeper made just 21 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners last season, featuring in cup games.
