Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has announced he will be looking for players to join his EA Sports Fifa team in the upcoming weeks.

The playmaker of Turkish origin shared a photograph of himself holding a games console controller with his other hand clenched in a fist.

Ozil revealed he is teaming up with eSportsRep to form ‘Team Ozil’ for the popular video game.

The team will compete in all major national and international EA FIFA competitions.

Ozil is also brand ambassador for the FIFA eWorld Cup which is currently taking place in London.

Ozil returned from pre-season early following Germany’s disastrous World Cup campaign and has enjoyed a full preseason under the stewardship of recently appointed manager Unai Emery.

The Gunners take on reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in their opening game on Sunday 12 August.
