Turkish Second-Tier Club Stand To Make Around £5m From Leicester City Signing Bundesliga Star Caglar Soyuncu

Altinordu stand to make around £5m from transfer of Caglar Soyuncu from Freiburg to Leicester City.

Yesterday we reported that the Foxes have completed the signing of the Turkey international for a fee that could rise to £20m on a five-year deal.

Altinordu will make 25 percent from the deal due to the clause they included in his contract after selling the young defender to Freiburg in 2016.

Soyuncu rose through the youth ranks of Altinordu alongside Cengiz Under, in fact, he was roommates with the Roma star.

The Izmir based side currently play in the Turkish second-tier but have one of the most ambitious footballing projects in the country.

Altinordu plan to create a fully home-grown side from their academy bases across the Aegean region of Turkey.

Soyuncu and Under are the first two names to break into top five leagues and 18-year-old keeper Berke Ozer and 21-year-old winger Baris Alici moved to Fenerbahce this summer.

The young defender went directly from the Turkish second division to the Bundesliga in 2016, settling in rapidly before establishing himself as a first-team player.
