Burnley boss Sean Dyche issues warning about Turkish clubs technical players ahead of Europa League clash

Burnley FC manager Sean Dyche has urged caution ahead of tonight’s encounter with Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Clarets take on Basaksehir in the Europa League third qualifying round in their first competitive game abroad in 52 years.

Tonight’s encounter will be played at the Fatih Terim stadium while kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 (GMT).

Basaksehir were surprise title challengers for the Turkish Super Lig last season and finished up in third place, just three points behind the champions Galatasaray.

Burnley meanwhile squeezed past Aberdeen in the previous round to reach the third qualification stage.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph ahead of the game, Dyche has stated that his players will need to be aware of Basaksehir’s technical players.

“We know they’ve got some very experienced players and well-travelled players, as well as some good technical players, so we have to be aware of that,” Dyche said.

“Our mindset never changes. We try and win every game we play and that’s our mentality and it’s served us well over the number of years I’ve been at Burnley Football Club.”

“The competitive element of the games we’ve had is helpful but we’ve got to balance that with the number of injuries, so not everyone has played in the games.”

Former Arsenal and Manchester City star striker Emmanuel Adebayor is a major doubt ahead of tonight’s clash after picking up an injury.

However, another players familiar to Premier League fans, Gael Clichy, is expected to start in defence
