Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has revealed that negotiations with Arsenal are ongoing over the transfer of David Ospina.
Laurentiis also announced that the Colombian international ‘could arrive’ before the end of the Serie A transfer window which ends on 17 August.
The latest development comes as a blow to Besiktas who have dragged out talks with the Gunners for weeks.
Napoli also revealed Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet is also one of the four keepers they are targeting, the others being Ochoa and Tatarusanu.
De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: “There are four in contention: Ochoa, Mignolet, Ospina and Tatarusanu. It is true that Ospina could arrive, we are negotiating, there are still some differences on the requests.”
Mignolet and Ospina have both dropped down the pecking order at their respective clubs and are currently third-choice.
Napoli could end up doing Besiktas a favor if they sign either Ospina or Mignolet.
Turkish-Football can confirm that both keepers are Besiktas targets.
The Black Eagles are however, willing to wait until the Italian transfer window closes on August 17.
The Super Lig outfit are of the view that their bargaining position will be strengthened if Napoli sign either keeper.
Additionally, should Napoli fail to sign Ospina or Mignolet before Friday, Besiktas will have until 1 September to complete a move.
Besiktas hope to get a deal on either keeper towards the end of the transfer window if either shot-stopper has failed to find a new club by then.
