Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has issued his reaction to Kevin De Bruyne’s injury.
City suffered a huge blow in the run-up Sunday’s encounter against Huddersfield. Star playmaker De Bruyne was stretched off from training on Wednesday after suffering a knee injury.
The Belgium international was seen leaving the grounds on crutches while City confirmed De Bruyne’s injury on their official website.
According to Goal.com, De Bruyne is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Per the source, the 27-year-old could be out for between two and three months
Gundogan is however hopeful that De Bruyne will feature again soon given his importance to Man City last season.

“Actually I didn’t even see what exactly happened because it was at my back,” Gundogan told Omnisport.
“Obviously, we are all hoping that it is not too serious because Kevin, especially last season, had a great impact on us.
“He’s very important – a key player for us, so we hope he is able to return as quick as possible.”
Man City kicked off their 2018/19 campaign with a comfortable win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.
Gundogan played the full 90 minutes and is available once again this weekend despite undergoing surgery on his nose to correct a deviated septum.
