Liverpool star midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has been linked with an unlikely move to the Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce.
The Italian outlet Calciomercattor claim that Fenerbahce have expressed an interested in the Netherlands international.
Per the source, Fenerbahce make an enquiry into the availability of the 27-year-old.
However, Liverpool have rejected Fenerbahce’s approach for Wijnaldum.
Wijnaldum started for Liverpool during their comfortable 4-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday. The Netherlands international also has three-years remaining on his contract with the Merseyside based club.
Fenerbahce are unlikely to further strengthen their side this summer after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League during the qualification stage.
The Yellow Canaries are being closely monitored by UEFA for Financial Fair Play this summer.
Wijnaldum made a total of 50 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season.
The Reds are back in action this weekend when they take on Crystal Palace Selhurst Park.
