Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru has opened up about his first impressions of Galatasaray since completing his move over the summer.
The Nigeria international feels the Super Lig is a step up from the Belgium top-tier where he spent last season on a temporary stint at Anderlecht.
“It is still early to pass judgment but what I can say is that the Turkish league is tougher than Belgium, it is more physical, the defenders are a lot tougher and football is played at a higher tempo,” Onyekuru said.
The 21-year-old also revealed that he cannot wait to start playing Champions League football again.
The winger felt he put on a good showing against PSG and Bayern Munich for Anderlecht last season in the competition despite losing both games.
“I can’t wait to play Champions League football again,” he added.
“I thought I did well against PSG and Bayern Munich last season.
“I do not care who we draw I just cannot wait to stay playing again.”
Onyekuru started for the Lions in their opening Super Lig game of the season which ended in a 3-1 victory over Ankaragucu.
The Everton man did not score or provide an assist but was widely praised for his performance.
Onyekuru setup two goalscoring opportunities and making two successful dribbles.

The winger is expected to start against Goztepe next on Sunday.
