Fenerbahce suffered a transfer blow in their bid to sign Liverpool forward Divock Origi on loan after Borussia Dortmund entered the race.
ESPN FC report that Dortmund are in talks with Liverpool over a deal for Origi.
Per the source, the Reds want to sell the Belgium midfielder who they value as being worth £27m.
Dortmund, like Fenerbahce, would prefer to loan Origi but would be willing to include a buy-out option.
The Bundesliga outfit feel they could reach a compromise with Liverpool over his fee as he does not feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
Origi has not featured in the matchday squad in either of the Reds first two Premier League games this season.
A source close to Fenerbahce revealed to Turkish-Football that they have also been trying to loan Origi.
The Yellow Canaries were prepared to wait until the end of the transfer window which shuts on 1 September in Turkey and try to snap him up if he had not already joined another club.
The Super Lig outfit are confident Liverpool would be open to a temporary move with a loan fee as the Premier League outfit do not have plans for the forward this season.
