Manchester City will be looking to make it three wins in three games when they take on the newly promoted Wolves this weekend.
Ilkay Gundogan has started both of Man City’s games so far this season despite undergoing surgery on his nose for a deviated septum.
Wolves meanwhile are yet to register a victory this season after being held to a draw by a 10-man Everton and suffering a defeat to Leicester City.
Man City Team News:
Deep-lying playmaker Ilkay Gundogan is expected to retain his place in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven after impressive performances in City’s opening games.
Gundogan was replaced late in the second half last weekend by youngster Phil Foden.
Belgium international Kevin de Bruyne will miss out after picking up a knee injury in training earlier this month.
Guardiola may opt to field both Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus if he deploys a 3-5-2 formation with Benjamin Mendy at left wing-back.
Jesus has told Man City’s official website that he is keen on playing alongside the Argentinian goalscorer.
“Our team has six players capable of playing in the attack, all of them really good,” Jesus told mancity.com.
“Pep opted for Sergio and myself, just like he has done last season and I think there was only one match where we didn’t so well – but usually when we both play together we do a great job.
“We can indeed play together!”
