Championship side QPR have been linked with a surprise move for Fenerbahce star midfielder Mehmet Topal.
According to the Turkish outlet Aksam, the London based club have held talks with Fenerbahce with the view of signing Topal on a season-long loan deal.
Per the source, Fenerbahce officials will meet with manager Philipe Cocu before making a decision on Topal’s future.
However, the deal does seem unlikely seeing that Topal is a first-team regular in Cocu’s side.
While the transfer window in England slammed shut in England on August 9, teams from the Championship, League One and League Two can complete loan deals before 5pm on August 31.

Topal has two years remaining on his contract with Fenerbahce and has already made four appearances this season. The 32-year-old provided five assists and scored three goals for Fenerbahce in 41 games during the 2017/18 season.
QPR are back in action this weekend in the Championship when they take on Wigan Athletic.
