Sunderland Defender Agrees Personal Terms With Trabzonspor As Transfer Talks Continue

Trabzonspor have agreed personal terms with Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji according to the Fanatik newspaper.

Per the source, talks between the two clubs involved are still ongoing and a deal has yet to be agreed.

Djilobodji is reported to be keen on the move but Trabzonspor have been reluctant to match the Black Cats valuation.

The Black Sea based outfit have opted to try and loan the defender as a result.

The Senegal international completed his move for Sunderland from Chelsea in a deal worth £8 million in 2016.

The 29-year-old has another two-years remaining on his current contract with the League 1 outfit.

Trabzonspor have made strengthening the defence a priority after parting ways Jan Durica, Tomas Hubocan and Ugur Demirok.

The Super Lig side have already signed Majid Hosseini and Zargo Toure but want a third defender to conclude their transfer activity this summer.

The Turkish transfer window shuts on 1 September.
