Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji is on the verge of a move to Turkish Super Lig giants Trabzonspor.
The Senegal international has been linked with a Sunderland exit ever since they were relegated from the Championship to League One.
Djilobodji spent last season out on loan with Ligue 1 side Dijon.
According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Trabzonspor has ‘struck a deal’ with Sunderland to take the defender on a season-long loan.
Sunderland were hoping to sell the defender this summer but may be forced into loaning him out after failing to attract a buyer.
Djilobodji is yet to feature for Sunderland this season. The 29-year-old made a total of 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Dijon last season.
Trabzonspor have been busy in the transfer market over the past week and completed the signing of Leeds United striker Caleb Eduban on Wednesday.
Sunderland are back in action this weekend when they take on Oxford United. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor face a tough fixture against league leaders Galatasaray.
