Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil is set to return to the Gunners match-day squad today when they take on Cardiff City. The clash takes place at 13:30 (GMT) at the Cardiff Arms Park.
SkySports states that Ozil missed last weekend’s 3-1 victory over West Ham but has trained all week and is back in contention for a starting spot.
The 29-year-old failed to impress in Arsenal’s opening two games and was sidelined with an illness for the Hammers clash.
Manager Unai Emery has stated that he was delighted with Arsenal’s first three points last weeks and wants to record back-to-back victories.
“I am very, very happy firstly with the three points but then also how the team worked to win this match and how we finished the last few minutes,” Emery was quoted as saying by SkySports.
“I want to continue that in the next match against Cardiff, a different game, but just to continue our momentum.”

The hosts are yet to register a victory this season and haven’t scored a goal since being promoted to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson believes Arsenal will register a 2-0 win over Cardiff. Paul Merson has predicted a 3-0 victory for his former side against the Bluebirds.
