Hull City star winger Kamil Grosicki was expected to join Turkish Super Lig club Bursaspor on transfer deadline day.
However, the Poland international found himself at the centre of a bizarre transfer tale which involved Grosicki going AWOL.
Bursaspor released a statement on deadline day that they had agreed a deal with both Hull City and Grosicki.
The 30-year-old held successful talks with the club and even travelled to Bursa to put pen-to-paper on his move to Bursaspor.
However, Grosicki went AWOL while Bursaspor officials were sat awaiting the winger to arrive and complete his move to the club.
The Green Crocodiles were understandably annoyed by the incident and released a statement which read: “Our club had reached a deal with Kamil Grosicki and Hull City for two years.
“As of last night the player had come to Bursa and was due to undergo a health check this morning.
“The contract had been prepared in accordance with the demands of Hull City and Kamil Grosicki.
“He arrived at the signature stage, abandoned the agreement and suddenly left the city without any justification.”
According to Bursaspor chairman Ali Ay, Grosicki’s agent attempted to negotiate a higher wage for his client at the final moment.
Grosicki remains a Hull City player and is expected to return to England over the international break.
