Galatasaray are preparing to make a fresh move for Celtic centre-back Dedryck Boyata in January.
The Istanbul giants were closely linked with a move for the Belgium international over the summer but were unable to strike a deal with the Scottish champions.
A source close to Galatasaray has revealed to Turkish-Football that the Lions were keen on signing the 27-year-old but were priced out of a move by Celtic.
Per the source, due to Galatasaray’s financial fair play obligations, they needed to sell more players if they were to make a move for Boyata over the summer.
Furthermore, Galatasaray are planning to table a fresh offer for Boyata if the Lions navigate past the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Galatasaray are likely to face competition for Boyata’s signature in January. The Spanish sports paper Marca claim that Villareal are also interested in signing the Belgium international.
Marca also previously linked Boyata with a £10 million move to Sevilla.
Boyata put in an impressive performance during Celtic’s win over rivals Rangers on Sunday.
