Leicester City summer signing Caglar Soyuncu has edged closer to a Leicester City debut after starting for Turkey.
The powerful centre-back made the move to the King Power Stadium from Bundesliga side Freiburg in a deal worth £19 million last month.
The 22-year-old was granted his UK work permit a fortnight ago and played 90 minutes for Leicester City’s u23 side.
Soyuncu is however yet to make a senior debut for the Foxes since his move from Germany.
The Leicester Mercury has stated that Souyuncu has taken a major step towards his debut after playing against Russia for Turkey.
Per the source, Soyuncu has been recovering from an injury and has been building up his fitness over the past week.
The Turkey international does however face major competition for a starting place at Leicester.
Manager Claud Puel has Harry Maguire, Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans and Soyuncu competing for two central defensive spots.
