Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius made the move to Besiktas on a two-year loan deal over the summer despite spending last season a the Reds first-choice keeper.
Despite an impressive season, the German keeper endured a nightmare UEFA Champions League final. Karius made several blunders during the final against Real Madrid.
Liverpool subsequently signed Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
According to the Daily Mail’s Dominic King, there was a breakdown in the relationship between Karius and his teammates after he posted a video in July of himself exercising and eating ice cream in California.
Per the source, the video was the ‘final straw’ and resulted in Liverpool signing Alisson and why Karius ended up leaving Anfield
“This also shows why Loris Karius had to move on,” Dominic King writes in his Daily Mail column.
“Slowly but surely, his actions led to trust being eroded and, for some, the video he posted to Instagram in July of him exercising and eating ice cream in California was the final straw.
“That was a time for self-awareness, to keep his head down and work but he continued to make himself a story.”
