Former Everton star Kevin Campbell has backed Cenk Tosun to have a successful season despite his slow start in terms of goal scoring.
Campbell revealed he has high hopes for the Turkey international who is currently first choice striker for Marco Silva’s side.
“I’m sure Cenk Tosun is rubbing his hands together because with those players in midfield and out wide supplying him crosses, he’s going to be licking his lips. He knows there’s going to be a lot more chances coming his way with this group of players,” Campbell said.
Tosun has yet to score a goal for the Toffees this season but does have two assists to his name.
Campbell believes the 27-year-old will find his goal scoring boots again and net up to 20 goals this season.
“He is a good finisher and he hasn’t had a sustained supply line to know where his chances are going to come from. But he’s going to excel, I believe, when everyone beds in, and long may that continue. If he could get double figures, 15 or 20 goals, that would be great,” he added.
