Arsenal discuses Unai Emery with reporters following 2-1 win over Newcastle United

Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil has revealed that the squad have a good relationship with their new boss Unai Emery.

Emery was appointed as Arsenal manager during the summer following the departure of Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners have now registered three wins in a row and find themselves seventh in the Premier League after five games.

Ozil played a key role during Saturday afternoons victory over Newcastle United.

The Gunners registered a 2-1 win with the former Germany international netting his sides second.

Ozil spoke with reporters after the game and heaped praise on Unai Emery.

“I’ve said in the past that I’m very happy to play for Arsenal. The new coach knows what he wants, the team have accepted that and the whole team supports him. We have a good relationship with him and you can see that especially today as well,” Ozil told ESPN after the game.

“When we score, the whole team is happy, even the players who don’t play so many minutes. You see we are one team that wants to reach our goal. We are happy to take the three points.”

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United over the past week. However, he only recently penned a big-money contract extension with Arsenal.

The Gunners are back in action on Thursday evening when they take on the Ukrainian Premier League side Vorskla.

Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.
