Man United linked with ‘shock’ January move for Chelsea ace – Galatasaray also in the race

Galatasaray look set to face serious competition in the race to sign Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill.

The Lions have been linked with Cahill since the summer and haven’t given up hopes of signing the former England international.

However, they look set to face competition from Premier League giants Manchester United.

According to the Mirror, Cahill has emerged as a ‘shock’ transfer target for Man United boss Jose Mourinho.

Per the source, the Portuguese tactician wants to upgrade his defence in January.

Cahi has admitted that he will consider his future if he is unable to break into Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven.

“I don’t want to jump the gun but as things stand at this time, probably, yes [I might have to leave in January],” Cahill was quoted as saying by the Mirror.

Galatasaray are also keen on signing a defender in January after failing to replace Jason Denayer over the summer. The Belgium international joined Ligue 1 giants Lyon after his loan deal expired with the Lions.

The Istanbul giants are back in action this weekend when they take on Antalyaspor.
