Man City Star Misses Out On Germany National Team Squad Call Up Ahead Of France Clash

Germany national team manager Joachim Low has named his squad for the upcoming games against bitter rivals the Netherlands and 2018 FIFA World Cup winners France.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been left out of the squad after picking up a hamstring injury in the Champions League Match Day 2 clash against Hoffenheim.

Freiburg striker Nils Petersen will also miss out through a shoulder injury.

Low has made a few changes to the squad giving Schalke striker Mark Uth a maiden call-up.

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has not returned to the national team after retiring, citing racism and discrimination as being factors behind his decision.

Low has not called any players of Turkish origin to the side with Juventus midfielder Emre Can also missing out.

Sixteen of the 23-man squad have been called up from the Bundesliga.
