“It’s very tough” – Man City star sends out warning ahead of trip to Liverpool

Manchester City star midifelder Iklay Gundogan has sent out a warning ahead of the Citizens encounter with Liverpool this weekend.

The Reds host City at Anfield on Sunday, kick-off is scheduled for 16:30 (GMT).

Gundogan is a doubt for the fixture after picking up a hamstring injury during Man City’s win over Hoffenheim in the UEFA Champions League.

The 27-year-old has admitted that City’s clash with Liverpool on Sunday will be the Citizens most difficult challenge on the road this season.

Liverpool registered three wins over Man City last season. The Blues have failed to win at Anfield since 2003.

“It’s very tough, probably the toughest away game of the season in the Premier League,” the Germany international told ESPN FC.

“But as a player there is not much more that you can achieve than playing these type of games, because when you play them or when the atmosphere is like that, you know it’s a big thing.

“So there’s nothing better than playing these type of games.

“Although you’re much more nervous before these type of games than in others maybe, even then after your first successful pass, first successful tackle or your first good dribble, you get more and more confidence.

“This confidence helps you a lot to achieve your target.”
