Everton manager Marco Silva gave Bernard a starting role in the team heading into the Leicester City clash at the King Power Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League.
Silva made a few changes in attack, keeping Cenk Tosun on the bench for the third game running and replacing him with Richarlison this week.
Calvert-Lewin had started the previous two league games but failed to make an impact.
Bernard did not take long to stamp his authority on the game with a stunning assist setting up Richarlison with the opening goal.
The new look attack looked impressive in the first half which ended in a 1-1 draw but could make it difficult for Tosun to break back into the side.
We took a look at how Everton fans reacted to the assist on social media.
GOL DE RICHARLISON!
Look at Bernard with his second assist in a row. Vintage Luís Figo. //t.co/UzS5kF2Nx2

Bernard may look small and innocent but he will steal your soul with the QUICKNESS

ASSIST Bernard, GOAL Richarlison. 100% Brazilian goal for Everton. Never thought this day would come I’d be watching them on TV and getting this excited for a goal. The beautiful game has no boundaries.

Please which right back did Bernard fillet like Sushi? Literarily stripped the Jersey number of him with slalom dribble for the assist //t.co/bNqUBop0Ix

Bernard is a gem, we have to take chances (as always) and we look dangerous going forward. Kenny been under the cosh and needs to stop diving in.
