Chelsea defender Gary Cahill will ask for a move in January if he fails to lock down regular football under the stewardship of Maurizio Sarri according to the Fanatik sports newspaper.
Per the source, Galatasaray have been alerted to the Cahill situation and are preparing a January move.
The Lions are willing to sell Maicon to UAE outfit Al Hilal in January following a €3m offer for the centre-back.
The Istanbul giants plan to replace Maicon with long-term target Cahill.
Cahill has not started a Premier League game this season.
The 61-cap England international played just 21 minutes against West Ham in what was his first appearance for the Blues but that was down to an injury to Antonio Rudiger.
Rudiger and David Luiz have been first-choice for Chelsea under Sarri so far this term.
Cahill has also fallen behind in the pecking order behind Andreas Christensen.
Sarri does however, reportedly want the experienced defender to stay and wait for his chance.
Sarri said: “I have spoken with him, but I think that there is October, November and December so he has to wait.
“We have to wait. I repeat, I was really very happy with the performance of Cahill against Liverpool this week.
“So, now, Gary for me is very useful. I don’t know: January is far from now. We will see in October, November and December.”
Galatasaray are currently first in the Super Lig and would be able to offer Cahill Champions League football in January should they book a place in the next round.
