Inter Milan have expressed an interest in Galatasaray wonder kid Ozan Kabak according to the Fanatik sports newspaper.
Per the source, Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti traveled to Istanbul over the international break and reportedly held talks with Galatasaray over a potential move.
Kabak still has another two-years remaining on his contract but the Istanbul giants want to avoid another Emre Belozoglu situation.
Seventeen years ago the Lions lost Emre Belozoglu and Okan Buruk on free transfers to Inter.
Both players were highly rated youngsters at the time.
Galatasaray want to extend Kabak’s contract to a five-year deal and increase his salary in order to avoid a repeat situation.
Kabak has already made four appearances at centre-back and could end up establishing himself as a regular starter in defence after the international break.
The young defender has his sights set at becoming a Galatasaray star but did reveal in 2017 that he would want to join Manchester United should he leave.
“I want to become one of the greats like my idol the legendary Galatasaray captain Bulent Korkmaz,” he told the Tam Saha magazine.
“I want to play for Galatasaray but I have a soft spot for the Premier League and in particular Manchester United.
“I hope my teammate Atalay Babacan get to play there together one day.”
Galatasaray meanwhile have made it clear that Kabak has been scouted by clubs from Italy and England but refused to mention names and underlined that it is normal for there to be interest but that does not mean they intend to sell anytime soon.
